COMMENTING CHARGES
Daily rate: $2
Monthly rate: $18
Yearly rate: $180

WAIT, WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY TO COMMENT?
Tablet is committed to bringing you the best, smartest, most enlightening and entertaining reporting and writing on Jewish life, all free of charge. We take pride in our community of readers, and are thrilled that you choose to engage with us in a way that is both thoughtful and thought-provoking. But the Internet, for all of its wonders, poses challenges to civilized and constructive discussion, allowing vocal—and, often, anonymous—minorities to drag it down with invective (and worse). Starting today, then, we are asking people who'd like to post comments on the site to pay a nominal fee—less a paywall than a gesture of your own commitment to the cause of great conversation. All proceeds go to helping us bring you the ambitious journalism that brought you here in the first place.

I NEED TO BE HEARD! BUT I DONT WANT TO PAY.
Readers can still interact with us free of charge via Facebook, Twitter, and our other social media channels, or write to us at letters@tabletmag.com. Each week, we’ll select the best letters and publish them in a new letters to the editor feature on the Scroll.

We hope this new largely symbolic measure will help us create a more pleasant and cultivated environment for all of our readers, and, as always, we thank you deeply for your support.

Barry says:

How is “done right” when Amira Hass is still alive, and the subhuman and satanic Mohammedan children of Gaza aren’t made to suffer for their shari’ah compliant genocidal war crimes?

Death to “Palestine”! Nakba Now!

I think “done right” means “businesslike,” “no-nonsense,” “without further inflaming the anti-Israel propaganda machine,” et al. Try not to drown in your own spittle.

Hershel (Heshy) Ginsburg says:

Israel was able to “do it right” mostly because the fully armed naval commandos boarded a relatively small ship (a yacht) holding about 25 useful idiots & crew members, as opposed to having naval commandos armed primarily with paintball guns board a relatively large ship (the Mavi Marmara) holding a boatload of Jihadis, their eyes ablaze with Shaheedism & visions of 72 virgins.

Caplan says:

Barry says: ‘How is “done right” when Amira Hass is still alive, and the subhuman and satanic Mohammedan children of Gaza aren’t made to suffer for their shari’ah compliant genocidal war crimes?”

Barry’s satire misses the target.

Amira Hass and the other “humanitarians” on the ship are complicit in helping Hamas impose their rule and call for the killing of “subhuman” Jewish children.

Hamas actually targets and has killed many Jewish children.

As for Amira Hass what credibility does a “journalist” have when has admitted that if Hamas or the PLO took over Israel she would be killed. Yet she supports them because she hates the Jewish people that much.

No wonder Barry supports her also. He too seems to be on the side of Hamas.

Is it just me or are the Tablet comments ever more hysterical?

Judging by the above remarks, the wingnuts have worked themselves into such a frenzy that they’re feeding on one another.

Christopher – I strongly doubt that “Barry” is being serious. Presumably, he is a far-left Israel hater attempting to make all supporters of Israel look hateful and hysterical.
