President Obama in 2008(AFP)

I’m not exactly sure why this is the breaking! news that the Twitter machine is calling it, but according to the AP, President Barack Obama will be making a trip to Israel next month.

Obama, who’d been taken to task during the last presidential campaign for skipping out on a trip to Israel during his first term, last went to the Levant in 2008 on a trip with Chuck Hagel. Obama will also visit Egypt, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia.

The announcement comes just days after John Kerry took his first swings as Secretary of State with phone calls placed to Israeli and Palestinian representatives.

Looking forward to the Tablet piece on how Bibi used the opportunity to embarrass himself and Israel.

I hope Bibi and his extremist brethren in the free lunch bunch accept a little creative criticism.

Netanyahu agenda for upcoming visit from President Obama:

1) Book President and retinue into Motel 6.

2) Seat Lapid far away from Obama at state dinner. Like in the next room.

3) Get some crack political advice on what to do from ace strategist John Boehner.

4) Marathon screening of Raid on Entebbe.

I’m not impressed. It’s clearly just a Charlie Tuna diplomacy move.
