Today in Tablet Magazine, Vox Tablet is very excited to have the Honorable Madeleine Albright, first ever female U.S. Secretary of State, as the guest on today’s podcast. Albright has a new memoir out which chronicles the first decade of her life—she was born in 1937—and delves into the family history she only discovered at age 59: Namely the fact that her parents were Jewish (they converted to Catholicism in 1941) and that many of the relatives they left behind in Czechoslovakia had died in the Holocaust.

Here’s a preview, in which she talks about what it was like to absorb this information while embarking on the most challenging job of her life.
