Who Doesn’t Love a Wedding?

Dreams, but definitely no huppah

This morning, in Westminister Abbey in London, His Royal Highness Prince William Arthur Philip Louis of Wales, Royal Knight Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter Master of Arts, of the House of Windsor (formerly the House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha), and the new Duke of Cambridge, married Her Royal Highness Princess Catherine, the new Duchess of Cambridge. It was the least Jewish event ever, despite which thousands of Jewish mothers in America woke up very early to view it. Dare I ask what people thought of the dress?

Kate’s mother was born a Goldsmith, and there has been speculation that, going several generations back, one of our representatives might occupy a position in the family tree.

And David Beckham had a Jewish grandfather, for what it’s worth.

Not the same. Not at all. Let someone else explain it to you.

There was a lot of excellent coverage re: Goldsmith, in Vanity Fair, if you check the archives, as there are two of note in the politics of the UK.

@fw, when you refer to “one of our representatives might…” are you referring to the on-line magazine to which we are responding; or, to political representatives in U.S. government?

Which reminds me, in regard to archives, could anyone help me locate the excellent article from last month re: Iranian Jews in L.A.

I haven’t been able to find it for a fellow poster at American Historical Perspectives.
