Today in Tablet Magazine, columnist Etgar Keret dreads a jetlag-hungover Yom Kippur fast. Eve Fairbanks reports from Bloemfontein, South Africa, once home to a substantial Jewish community, now home to a smaller community of Jews for Jesus. Art director Len Small showcases a wonderfully unique contemporary artifact: A xylophone with the words to the Yom Kippur prayer “Ashamnu” on the keys.
