It’s been a full 24 hours since I last brought news of the mythical Menurkey—a festive species-to-be which yesterday was 93 percent funded on Kickstarter—which means it’s time for an update. Since then, nearly a hundred more donors gave money to the wildly successful fundraising campaign, bringing the Thanksgiving-Hanukkah hybrid hopeful to $28,361, surpassing their already ambitious $25,000 goal by more than $3,000.

Kickstarter rules say that any project that fulfills its fundraising goal gets ushered into production/filming/existence, while projects that don’t raise the money (See: Mamet, Zosia) are caput. So the Menurkey is happening.

Safely funded, they’re now trying to raise $36,000 (get it?) by the original September 12 deadline. Given the rabid excitement surrounding the Menurkey (call me an enabler) and the quickness with which that translated to generous e-giving, it’s not such a stretch.

Now back to the High Holidays. See you in November, Menurkey.
