Detail of Lot 167, An Important and Extensive Collection of Jewish Postcards, including Photographs and Ephemera, Late 19th– to mid 20th century, estimated $16/24,000, from the Important Judaica sale to be held at Sotheby’s New York on Dec. 19, 2012. (Sotheby's)

It turns out that the last Sotheby’s auction of the year will be themed with antique Judaica and Israeli art. Among the wares and treasures, a priceless (for now) 18th-century Haggadah, Hebrew postcards, and some of Alan Dershowitz’s art collection.

Enjoy the story and the impressive slideshow here.
